When creating an Instagram post, there are a few things that you MUST include in order to have a complete and successful post. Make sure to check all of these before you publish!
✔️ Call to action
At the end of your copy, always make sure to include a call to action. It could be anything! From subscribing to your Youtube channel, to checking out your latest blog post, to even trying out your recipe. This makes your followers feel included in your content and helps keep your engagement rate up.
✔️ Emojis
While this might seem like such a simple thing, emojis are great because they’re visual cues. Not only do they make a short paragraph look much more fun and easy to read, but they help you get your message across the way you initially wanted it to. For example, the phrase “See you later.” reads way differently that “See you later 😜”.
✔️ Geo tag
Geo tags work similarly to hashtags: they let people who don’t follow you see your content, but based on where you are or were at. These are also great because they make your followers feel closer to you, as they can see that you might have gone somewhere they usually go to and love.
✔️ Hashtags
Duh. Hashtags are SUPER important because they help you reach a bigger audience, and you can categorize your content with them. They’re also good for highlighting words because when you use a hashtag, that word turns blue, so it stands out more in your copy.
Basically, we LOVE hashtags, and here you can learn more about how important they are and the correct way to use them.
✔️ Tag accounts
Tagging other accounts (when relevant) is great because not only does it increase the possibility of them seeing and maybe even reposting, liking or commenting on your post, but it also gives context to your followers. For example, if you did a makeup tutorial inspired by someone else’s, you can tag them so that your followers see the original look, or if you went to a coffee shop, you can tag it so that your followers see their menu, where it’s located, etc.
