why does engagement rate matter?

We always talk about how to get a good engagement rate, but why does it matter?

Not only does it position you as a pro, but it also provides credibility and relevance.

Let’s look at it more into detail!

Relevance

If you have a good engagement rate, people see you as a trusted source: this is why relevance and credibility go hand in hand.

When you walk past a restaurant and see it’s full, you think to yourself “Wow, the food there must be great.” Same thing goes for social media!

When people interact with someone, you think their content must be great or they’re great as a person, which are both good things!

Interest

Take the time to review what content your audience likes best based on their likes and comments. This is a great exercise because not only does it help you create content, but it also provides you information on what you audience’s interests are. Take that into consideration when working on your upcoming content calendar!

Priority

If people who don’t follow you come across your account, and take into consideration other content creators with similar accounts, why would they follow you instead of them?

Analyze what you bring to the table and what makes you stand out.

People usually follow others who have a greater engagement rate because they feel like they’re more credible and people are interested in them, so they can’t miss out.
